The Portuguese Football Federation (FPF), after consultation with the respective Portugal Health Authorities, announced on Saturday that the first home European matches will feature 15% allowed fan capacity.
The matches allowed in this test are:
SC Braga x AEK Athens (22 October)
FC Porto x Olympiakos (27 October)
Benfica x Standard Liège (29 October)
The recent two home Seleção matches in Alvalade (x Spain, x Sweden) were allowed fans, along with several second division matches.
The regional government of the Azores also allowed up to 1,000 fans at Santa Clara x Gil Vicente. However, regular Liga matches on the mainland continue to not be allowed fans, including tonight’s Classico in Alvalade between Sporting CP x FC Porto.
The issue of not allowing fans continues to be a major issue for the first division clubs, who are missing out on vital revenue in an already tough pandemic economy.
Portugal has seen their positive Covid-19 cases rise, along with deaths, which has forced the government to take action to try to curb the spread.
