U21: Portugal Easily Defeat England, 2-0

Dany Mota’s strike and a Francisco Trincão penalty, both in the second half, gave the Portugal Under-21 a 2-0 victory in a Group D match on Sunday afternoon in Slovenia.

Portugal need only 1 point to qualify to the knock out stage of the European Championship, which is scheduled for late May.

Portugal (4-3-1-2): Costa; Correia, Queiros, Leite, Dalot; Vitinha, Luis (Braganca 46), Fernandes (Trincao 46); Vieira (Conceicao 63); Goncalves (Soares 88), Mota (Ramos 73).

UEFA NOTES

*The U21 have conceded just three goals across their last eight U21 EURO matches, including qualifying.

*The U21 have now scored in 30 successive U21 EURO matches, qualifying included. The last time they were shut out was against Israel in September 2016.
