Tuesday was a busy day for the Liga, who not only announced that all clubs would not sign players from other Liga clubs that rescind due to the Pandemic, they also said they expect to lose an estimated 310 million euros compared to this time last year. That estimated 310 million euros is a revenue drop of 60 percent.
The Liga and Players Union also came to an agreement on player contracts post June 30, which is the date that contracts in their final year end. This agreement helps clubs plan for keeping players until the season is fully completed.
A statement of agreement reads:
- Extension of employment contracts until the end of the 2019-20 season.
- Extension of loan and assignment contracts until the end of the 2019/2020 season.
- Accept that part of the vacation period will be defined by the clubs.
- Agree that none of these measures is a just cause for termination of the sports employment contract.
