UEFA Closely Watching Coronavirus as EURO 2020 Finals Gets Closer

UEFA is closely monitoring the coronavirus situation in Europe.
Numerous sporting events, including Serie A matches, have been postponed as Northern Italy is facing an outbreak.

“We are at the waiting stage. We are monitoring country-by-country, and football must follow the orders of the individual countries,” said Italian Michele Uva, a member of the UEFA executive committee said to Italy’s Rai. “The competition will only be suspended if the situation gets worse.”

Rome, which has not been affected, is due to hold four matches.
Twelve different countries in Europe will host a EURO match.
Portugal is set to start play in Budapest, Hungary on June 16 against a playoff opponent.
